Short Journeys Certificate of competence

The qualification is species specific (e.g. cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, poultry, horses, game birds). It covers the legal requirements, journey planning, vehicle suitability, fitness to travel, causes and signs of stress in animals, space allowances, stocking densities, handling and animal welfare in transit and post journey requirements.

This assessment has been put together taking into account for current European Animal Welfare Regulations

Please note this is a lifetime certificate no refreshers or resits are required.

The six species available are cattle, sheep, horses, goats, pigs & poultry

Cattle and sheep can be taken as a single module but each of the other species require a separate module. Please book a sufficient number of modules for your needs and specify the species you require in the comments box at the checkout. We will confirm your actual requirements once your booking is confirmed.
